Women's Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA) 2024
An introduction to WSLA
The Women's Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA) is dedicated to developing tomorrow's leaders of sport with the aim of preparing and supporting them to step up and be part of an increased cohort of female leaders in sport.
WSLA is strategically led by the University of Chichester and is developed and delivered by Leading Edge Performance. Since 2014, over 400 women based in nearly seventy countries spanning six continents have become graduates of the Academy. They come from a range of sports organisations, including:
National Olympic and Paralympic Committees
International and National Sport Federations
Sport-for-change charities and organisations
Sports departments in universities
Sports clubs
Media consultancy businesses

Cave Hill Campus Sport Grants
The Sports Grants shall be opened to nationals of the Caribbean Community who (i) have gained admission for full-time study at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus to read for a three or four year programme in any discipline offered by the Campus; (ii) have demonstrated an exceptional capacity for a high level of performance in a sports discipline; as verified by the Head, Academy of Sport.
Value: BDS$3000.00 per annum

Cave Hill Campus Sport Scholarship
Nationals of the Caribbean Community who: * Have gained admission, or qualified for admission for full-time study at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus to read for a three or four-year degree undergraduate programme in any discipline. * Have demonstrated an exceptional capacity for a high level of performance in a sports discipline; as verified by the Head, Academy of Sport.
Value: Maintenance and incidental expenses as stipulated by the University, currently valued at BDS$6000.00 per annum.

The UWI Postgraduate Sports Scholarship
Open to nationals of the Commonwealth Caribbean who have gained admission, or qualify for admission, into any full-time taught masters programme in any discipline at the UWI, Cave Hill Campus.
The Scholarship award will be the relevant tuition fees for the full-time taught masters programme.
BSc. Sport Kinetics: University of the West Indies
The BSc. Sport Kinetics will equip you with the required knowledge, skills, attitudes and techniques to work in different sectors of the sport and exercise market to enhance the approach being used for sport and exercise training across the lifespan.
BSc. Sport Sciences: University of the West Indies
This BSc. Sport Sciences offers students a varied programme that covers a range of Sport Sciences related courses. It is structured to develop transferable competencies related to sport leadership, statistical analysis, teamwork, problem solving, numeracy, information technology awareness that would enhance graduating students’ potential for employment.
BSc. Sport Leadership & Management: University of the West Indies
The creation of the Sport Leadership and Management B.Sc. programme is intended to provide students with an opportunity to combine their practical sport leadership experiences with sport management theory thereby enabling them to prepare for successful careers in the sport organizational environments.
BSc. Sport and Physical Literacy: University of the West Indies
The Bachelor of Science in Sport and Physical Literacy consists of a total of ninety (90) credits. It offers four main areas of study: 1. Basic Sciences; 2. Sport and Physical Literacy specific; 3. Professional, and 4. Foundation Courses and are offered over three (3) semesters per year.
MSc. Sport Medicine: University of the West Indies
The Masters Sports Medicine was designed to develop specialists in Jamaica to cater to the unique needs of our athletes. This group of specialists will be trained in modern treatment methods and use of ethical scientific practices to enhance sporting ability. They will also be empowered to play a major role in reducing the incidence and effects of almost all chronic conditions that are widespread in the region and are a drain on financial resources.
UWI/FIFA/CIES Diploma in Sports Management
The emphasis of this postgraduate diploma programme is on understanding the management, marketing and policy development challenges of delivering sports services within the Caribbean sports management environment. The courses and projects to be pursued will facilitate the development of skills and competencies necessary for success at senior management level in sporting organizations in the public, commercial and voluntary sectors.
MSc. Sport Science: University of the West Indies
This master’s degree is a double degree run by the Cave Hill Campus and the University of New Brunswick, Canada. It is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of a range of sport sciences subject areas. It utilises best practices to ensure that students exit the degree programme capable of entering the professional field related to their area of study.
MSc. Sport Business Management: University of the West Indies
The Master of Science in Sport Business Management along with concentrations in Sport and Community Development and Sport Tourism, offers management concepts and approaches that are specific to the needs of a variety of sport entities. The programme emphasizes experiential learning, collaboration and partnerships. Project-based assessments through field placements will provide technical support, facilitate mentorship, and self-directed learning.

Virtual Technical Officials Level 1 Training Course: Athletics
The objective of the Level I course is to provide participants with the theoretical and practical training required to make them capable of officiating at national level competitions and at international competitions held within their country.
Level 1 Virtual Coaching Course: Athletics
The Level 1 will able you to confidently train teens providing the “bridge” from World Athletics Kids’ Athletics to ‘real’ athletics. The syllabus covers all key theory areas and all event groups emphasising on the practical skills of coaching. At the end of the course, you will be able to competently progress kids into teens’ athletics training and competition (13-15 years of age).
